- Archiviazione cloud — viene mostrato solo OneDrive.

- 12 lingue — le stesse 12 lingue dell'app Android (coreano, inglese, giapponese, tedesco, francese, spagnolo, portoghese, cinese tradizionale e semplificato, italiano, indonesiano e vietnamita).

Bluetooth exclusive mode, the real output path on the player, and steadier CastFi sound
- Bluetooth exclusive mode — turn it on under Sound > Output and, over Bluetooth, CastFi converts once to match the Android output rate. Where the connection allows it plays through exclusive MMAP, otherwise with output rate optimization, chosen automatically from the connection.
- Pausing gives exclusive output back — after a pause of more than a second CastFi releases exclusive output so other apps can play right away, and chooses again from the current connection when you resume.
- Output on the player — the player shows the path actually in use (Bluetooth · exclusive MMAP / output rate optimized / Android standard output). Expand it to see the Android output rate and CastFi’s own conversion separately.
- CastFi sound — a new way of checking whether another app is playing at the same time notices it faster and more accurately, and no audio effects are left behind afterwards. If the output stalls, it switches off at once and your original sound returns.
- Stability — steadier pausing, reconnecting, output switching and track changes.

Better records sent with bug reports — so problems can be found faster
- Repeated lines collapsed — a message repeated hundreds of times used to fill the whole report and push out where the problem started. Repeats are now summarized and the earlier record is kept.
- The moments before a freeze or crash — even if you report after restarting, the end of the previous run, records left by an unexpected exit, and recent warnings and errors are included.
- Unchanged — about the same amount is sent, and passwords, tokens and PC paths are still removed. Turn off “Include recent logs” to send no logs.

Direct NAS, downloading PC music away from home, original DSF remotely, My Music views, sorting and album art
- Direct NAS — add a NAS or Windows shared folder (SMB2 or later) in Settings > Music folders · network storage (or My Music > Manage folders) and its music joins this phone’s albums, artists, tracks and folders. Libraries of tens of thousands of tracks are read once, then only changes are re-read. FLAC goes bit-perfect to a USB DAC; DSF plays as native DSD.
- NAS songs on this phone — download tracks, albums, artists or folders and they keep playing when the NAS is out of reach. No duplicate entries, and interrupted downloads resume.
- Download PC music away from home — copy your PC’s songs to this phone over a remote connection (Windows v0.10.5 or later, with ‘Allow downloads away from home’ on in the PC’s settings). Drops and Wi-Fi/LTE switches resume where they left off; if the original changed meanwhile, the copy restarts instead of mixing versions.
- Original DSF away from home — remote playback now takes the original DSF and plays it as native DSD on a USB DAC (with the data-use consent on in Settings).
- My Music views — choose All, This phone or NAS from ‘View’. Track, album and artist sorting (recently added, name, year and more) is remembered, with album/artist grids and fast scrolling for long lists.
- Queue — open it in one tap from the mini player and the player, drag to reorder. Long runs of unplayable songs are skipped at once to the next playable one.
- Album art and widget — fixed art missing on the player and DAPs and PNG covers inside FLAC; art also goes to network speakers. The widget shows what this phone is playing.
- Settings — listening away from home, original DSF and sharing this phone’s music now live together under Settings > Remote & sharing.
- Reported fixes — duplicate songs from overlapping folders, and the app closing right after launch on some devices. (0.4.8 was not released separately; its changes are included here.)

App freeze during PCM upscaling fixed, and a new “Sharing with other devices” setting (offline downloads to your phone)
- Freeze during PCM upscaling fixed — when no usable ASIO driver was available for the output device (for example, the DAC was off or unplugged), CastFi kept retrying the high rate and froze. It now retries once at the original rate and, if that fails too, keeps playing on the same device through regular (WASAPI) output.
- Settings › Sharing with other devices — lets your paired CastFi phones save this PC’s music for offline listening (on the phone from CastFi Android 0.4.9). “Allow downloads on the same network (LAN)” is on by default; “Allow downloads from away from home” is off. Files arrive exactly as stored (including DSF/DFF), interrupted downloads resume, and if the file on the PC changed in the meantime the download starts over.
- Phone connection — your phone finds the same track again even after a library rescan changes track numbers.

Distorted sound when sending to network devices fixed, and a new “Network play” setting (app capture device)
- Distortion fixed — when sending a streaming app such as Spotify to a network device, a fixed 10 dB boost was always applied, so loud tracks were clipped. The boost is gone and the app’s own level is sent. It may sound a little quieter at first; adjust it with the network device’s volume.
- Dropouts fixed — on PCs where the dedicated capture process started slowly, capture fell back to the main app and audio dropped briefly. That no longer happens.
- Settings › Network play › App capture device — when sending to the network device only, the streaming app can be sent to a virtual cable or an unused output, which is muted while sending. It works like DSD upsampling and FIR EQ, so the audio goes out at its original level with no lowering and boosting. The default stays the automatic method used until now.

CastFi sound to network speakers, and songs from other devices now play on network speakers
- CastFi sound to network speakers — pick a network speaker under Playback device, then turn on [CastFi sound] on Home and YouTube Music or Apple Music plays through that speaker. It works like the same feature in CastFi for PC: the app’s sound goes out as is, without correction or effects, a few seconds behind to avoid dropouts. The speaker’s title follows track changes on speakers that support it.
- Songs from other devices on network speakers — songs stored on a PC or another Android device no longer stop instead of playing when sent to a network speaker. They now play through the phone even while the PC connection is briefly down or you are browsing away from home.

CastFi sound for other music apps, music sharing between Android devices, DAP buttons, launch-crash fix
- CastFi sound for other music apps — play Apple Music or YouTube Music, then tap [CastFi sound] on Home. Once you allow Android’s screen-share prompt, that app’s playback gets your headphone correction and effects and goes out to the USB DAC or the phone’s output. The sound is processed on the device only, the screen is never recorded, and [Off] on Home or the notification stops it any time (Android 10+).
- Share music between Android devices — turn on Settings > Share this phone’s music and other CastFi devices on the same Wi-Fi can browse and play this phone’s music from My music, or play it on this phone. Off by default and open only on your home network.
- DAP buttons and remotes — next/previous now work from a DAP’s hardware keys, wired earphones and Bluetooth remotes.
- Reported fixes — the app closing right after launch on some devices, and closing when [Download to this phone] started on a PC track.

Sorting in My Music, the queue one click from Home, tracks added during shuffle kept, reported errors fixed
- Sorting in My Music — sort tracks by recently added, title, artist, album, release year, most played, recently played or length; artists by name, recently added, track count or album count; albums by artist, album name, release year, recently added or track count — and flip ascending/descending with one button. Clicking a track in a sorted list plays it in exactly the order you see.
- The queue from Home — “My Playlists” in the header now switches between [Playlists | Queue]. Jump to a track, reorder, remove, shuffle, repeat, save, or sort the whole queue (title, artist, album, date added, release year, length) right there.
- Shuffle and the queue — tracks added while shuffle was on disappeared when shuffle was turned off. They are now mixed into the upcoming part of the queue and stay at the end of the original order when shuffle goes off. Shuffle play from a playlist now turns on the player’s shuffle as well, and turning it off returns to the playlist’s order.
- Reported errors fixed — DSD upsampling that would not turn on and kept saying the DAC driver “just stopped”; 16-bit tracks in WASAPI exclusive mode landing on a different result each time (resampled, shared, correct); the ASIO driver shown as a different driver; DSF conversion that sat there without responding.
- Quit app completely — now right below “About” in the settings menu.

The modulator and filter you pick are the ones that run, a sample-rate family option, exclusive-hold guidance
- DSD upsampling — the setting you picked now runs — Trellis Direct ran as Standard on the path that sends streaming and external-app audio over ASIO; a precise interpolation filter dropped to a lower level every time; changing the modulator or filter during playback did nothing; and the modulator name on the home screen read “Standard”. All fixed.
- Match sample-rate family — a new option, off by default. A DSD stream’s rate follows the sample-rate family of the track, and many DACs do not accept 48 kHz-family DSD, so 48 / 96 / 192 kHz tracks alone fell back to ordinary playback. Turn it on and those tracks are matched to the 44.1 kHz family, landing on a rate the DAC accepts. The signal-path screen shows the reason and a one-click enable button, but only when the symptom is real and turning it on would actually fix it.
- When another program holds the output device — instead of repeating “cannot open the output device”, CastFi states the cause and stops retrying. Turn off that program’s exclusive mode or close it, then apply again. The upsampling switch is left on.
- Unchanged — with “Match sample-rate family” left off, DSD conversion behaves exactly as before. AP-1, FIR EQ, headphone correction, spatial effects, bit-perfect and ASIO selection rules, output routing.

CastFi AP-1 outboard processor, direct-link music video, listening away from home, reported fixes
- CastFi AP-1 — the AP-1 chip on the player opens an outboard unit in its own window: BASS · PRESENCE · AIR · BRILLIANCE · EXCITER · SATURATION · DENSITY · STEREO knobs plus INPUT DRIVE · MIX, presets (Natural · Analog · Detail · Excited · Big), RESET/BYPASS/HELP and a HEADROOM lamp. Sound does not drop while you turn a knob, and the shaped signal still passes headphone/room correction and DSD conversion. Works alongside the existing effects, speaker mode, crossfeed and FIR EQ.
- Music video · lyrics mode — playback is back to direct links first, so videos with embedding blocked play again. MV search no longer appears in your YouTube account history, and a ranking defect that put a karaoke track above the official video is fixed.
- Listening away from home — now on the production rendezvous server. Pairs with the “Connect to this PC now” button in Android 0.4.5.
- Reported fixes — first launch after an update ending in an error → “already running” → working on the third try; some DACs (FiiO) going silent on DSD512 at 24.576 MHz (now continues in PCM with a notice); the server stalling for tens of seconds when the phone requested the headphone catalog.
- Unchanged — the sound and settings of the existing effects, speaker mode, crossfeed and FIR EQ; output routing, bit-perfect and ASIO rules; settings and state restore.

“Connect to this PC now” for listening away from home, lingering notification, USB start-up stall retry
- Listening away from home — Settings > Remote listening now has “Connect to this PC now”: your phone shows a 6-digit code; approve on the PC when it shows the same number. Once paired, play your PC’s music bit-for-bit from any network and check the link with the speed test (needs CastFi for Windows 0.10.1+).
- Reported fixes — the “CastFi is running” notification lingering after exit; on some USB DACs bit-perfect playback stalling right after start now reopens the session once and verifies the sample-rate setting.
- More translated labels for the PC outboard processor (AP-1).

Companion update for the new phone app: YouTube Music and Spotify data paths, high-res album art
- A companion update for the new phone app (CastFi Remote). The PC-side data paths were widened so streaming home, search, library and the play queue show up correctly when you control the PC from the phone. The new Home and queue features need the latest phone app.
- YouTube Music — when regional or membership policy keeps the PC from fetching home, search and library data, CastFi now uses the data your signed-in built-in view already receives. Items no longer show 0 songs or refuse to play from the phone, and the play queue is exposed to the phone.
- Launching YouTube Music from the phone’s Home now opens the built-in view and guides you to pick a song from the Search tab, instead of attempting a recommended auto-play that cannot succeed right after launch and showing it as a failure. Auto-play still works when the view is already open.
- Spotify — fixed the desktop app not changing track when you tapped a searched song from phone control, and the empty album list on artist pages (since early August, a Spotify request-limit change). New releases are offered on Home.
- High-resolution album art — the PC now sends the original artwork address so the phone’s Now Playing screen can use it (built-in playback and Spotify).
- DSD upsampling settings — the modulator list is served from one place on the PC, so the phone’s settings screen always matches.
- Unchanged — sound quality and sound processing, output routing and audio behaviour, screen design and layout, playback behaviour, settings and state restore. All identical to before.

Faster startup, less waste during playback, per-app output and capture accuracy
- Reduced the time from launch to actually being usable. About 0.6-1.1 s faster (median) on the desktop we measured; real-world gain depends on your PC and library size.
- Fixed interface files being re-read from scratch on every launch. Unchanged files are reused and changed files are always fetched, so you never see a stale interface after an update.
- Creating the window and advertising the PC on the network no longer wait for each other. Phones do not discover the PC any later than before.
- The album art image is no longer re-sent in full every 1-3 seconds during playback. A new image is fetched immediately when the artwork actually changes.
- Fixed the whole screen being redrawn every time the speed readout changed during upsampled playback. The speed number updates at the same rate as before.
- Fixed per-app output device assignments being lost when that app restarted. Assignments are remembered per application and inherited by newly launched windows.
- Removed the possibility of picking an unrelated window when capturing audio from built-in streaming (YouTube / Spotify / Apple Music). Capture quality and routing are unchanged.
- Fixed a rare failure to read the output device list and playback format.

Music video playback restored, output device remembered, PC rediscovery
- Fixed music videos not playing at all in Lyrics mode and MV mode. Playback now goes through the official YouTube player only, and the app identifies itself on every request.
- Videos whose owner disallows external playback are skipped to the next candidate; only when all candidates are blocked does CastFi show [Watch on YouTube].
- Fixed the DSD upsampling “app output device” reverting to your speakers after a restart. Your explicit choice now persists across restarts.
- Fixed the phone failing to find the PC after a PC restart. The PC reuses its previous port when free, and the phone follows the same PC even if the port changes.

FIR precision restored, output-device pinning, virtual-cable capture
- Fixed FIR precision EQ not applying (including headphone matching and sound effects) by bundling an internal module missing from the installer.
- Fixed streaming output going to the wrong speaker or alternating between devices by pinning to the selected endpoint.
- When another program holds the DAC exclusively (e.g. Spotify’s exclusive mode), it no longer goes silent for 30 s and quietly switches off; the cause is detected up front and explained.
- Fixed the “FIR Preamp” line reading 0 dB while a different attenuation was applied, and it now names where the attenuation comes from.
- Clean, no-attenuation capture through a virtual cable: you can send the app to a “dead-end” virtual cable that does not output externally.
- Easier to find the capture device — added a notice and a jump button under EQ · AI Sound, and the problem report is back to a button that opens a window.

FiiO ASIO recognition, universal ASIO binding
- FiiO ASIO drivers are now matched by driver-package structure and USB vendor ID, not just the name.
- Fixed DSD rate getting locked low right after a driver hang, an unresponsive diagnostics tool, and external Apple Music PCM upsampling.

- More accurate correction limits for target-headphone matching and DSD modulator labels/values.
- Folder-browsing improvements, a fix for GPU-acceleration init depending on the install path, and a new DSD modulator.
- Root-cause fixes for issues found in user reports.
CastFi Remote
- Remote-control your PC and play the phone’s local music through the PC engine. Supports NAS, DLNA, and out-of-home remote playback.
- Android updates are delivered through Google Play.
